What is a Registry of Importers?
The registry of importers in Mexico is an official record that identifies and authorizes companies to carry out import operations. It is a list that contains detailed information on importers, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and facilitating international trade in the country.
Having a registry of importers in Mexico is a requirement to import and carry out import operations. This registry guarantees compliance with customs regulations, facilitates tax and customs control.
Registration in the Register of Importers
Through the SAT portal, the following steps must be followed:
– Access the SAT portal (www.sat.gob.mx) and select the “Procedures” option.
– Locate the “Foreign Trade” section and choose the “Register of Importers” option.
– Select the “Registration” option and provide your RFC and password to access your account.
– Complete the registration form with your personal and company information.
– Provide the requested information about the import economic activity that you will carry out.
– Attach the required documents, such as copies of official identification, proof of address, power of attorney, among others.
– Review and verify the information entered, and confirm the registration request.
– Once the process is completed, you will receive an acknowledgment of receipt with a folio number as proof of your request.

Approved Verification Units (UVA)
Great tool to make Customs Clearance faster, easier and more affordable, when importing goods that require compliance with one or more official standards to be released from the fiscal area (Customs) such as, for example, commercial information labeling for clothing.
