The Official Mexican Standard (NOM) is a set of established regulations by the Mexican federal government to guarantee the quality, safety, and compliance of product standards, services and processes in Mexico, aiming to protect national consumers and promote corporate competitiveness.
Processing an Official Mexican Standard (NOM) can be a complex task because of the bureaucracy, and the various technical and legal requirements that must be followed.

La NOM-116-SCFI-2018 establece los estándares de calidad y etiquetado para aceites lubricantes utilizados en motores a gasolina y diésel en México. Esta norma garantiza que los aceites cumplan con especificaciones técnicas rigurosas para proteger y prolongar la vida útil de los motores.
Además de definir los métodos de prueba para evaluar el desempeño de los aceites, la norma también regula la información comercial que debe incluirse en las etiquetas, como la viscosidad, el tipo de aceite y las aplicaciones recomendadas.
Cumplir con la NOM-116-SCFI-2018 es obligatorio para fabricantes, importadores y comercializadores de aceites lubricantes en México. Esto asegura la calidad de los productos y brinda a los consumidores la información necesaria para elegir el aceite adecuado para sus vehículos.
